Average Number of Activities Per Visit Around the World

Average Number of Activities Per Visit Around the World

According to Repsly’s field activity database, a typical field representative conducts approximately 3 activities in a single visit. Activities range from taking purchase orders, completing on-site reports, capturing photos, and conducting audits. The following data was extracted from a database of customers in over 40 countries from field sales/marketing, retail merchandising, and field service industries.

This week, the Asia Pacific region takes first place in conducting the most number of activities per visit with an average of 4.1 activities per visit per rep, this is more than double the number of activities conducted in Europe, which conducted 1.7 activities per visit. The United States, Latin America, and Africa conducted 3.1, 2.9, and 2.5 activities per visit respectively.

While there are many factors that influence this metric, we might be able to make a few presumptions on cross-cultural differences in field operations and productivity.
