This week, we investigated the number customer visits an average field rep makes per day across different industries. The following data was extracted from the Repsly field activity database of companies from five industry categories: consumer packaged goods (CPG) in food & beverage, CPG outside of food and beverage such as apparel and furniture, field services, medical & pharmaceuticals, and miscellaneous industries such as property management and field sales & marketing.
According to the data, field representatives in the CPG food and beverage space made the highest number of visits per day with 8 visits followed by reps in medical and pharmaceutical companies that averaged 7 visits per day. Companies in the miscellaneous category came next with 6 visits per day. In last place was CPG companies outside of food and beverage with 5 visits per day and service companies with 4 visits per day.
